When neither my wife's nor my garage door remotes worked the other day (but the wall button did), I figured it wasn't the batteries (I checked anyway) and called the number for Precision on the sticker in my garage. The technician came out, heard my description of the problem again, inspected a sensor and declared I needed a new panel/motherboard: $1700. When I recoiled at the price he referred me to someone else, who had worked on my door once before and, if he had the part, would charge us less. The second guy confirmed the diagnosis and would charge $1300. I then called my son-in-law who found that a "de-activate" (lock) button on the wall unit had been inadvertently pushed and, when reset, the door worked fine. It is implausible to me that both technicians were unable to detect, given the explanation I gave, what was really wrong. They are either incompetent or tried to fool me into buying a new opener. I called the owner (to avoid sharing an embarrassing review) and left a message but he never called me back. Would you choose this company?

Great experience very professional organization from the first call for estimate to the final invoice. Called about a broken overhead roll-up garage door spring in the morning received and an estimate made an appointment that was just two hours later with a promise that the technician would call before arriving. The technician Jorge Fortanel called 20 minutes before showing up in a clean equipped logoed work truck (which I think shows professionalism). Before starting Mr. Fortanel did a free 25-point inspection and said everything looked good except for springs that needed replacing in pairs and suggested adding a roller bearing between springs to add to the longevity and I agreed. Mr. Fortanel was very professional and knowledgeable with suggestions for the longevity of the door. I will not hesitate to use Precision Overhead Garage Door Service again as well as refer friends and family.

My problem was diagnosed and solved. The motherboard on my 25+ yr old garage door opener was messed up. Carlos Barragon has seen this problem before and replaced it with and new upgraded garage door opener. He was extremely courteous and professional the whole time even when it was hot in the garage and I had many questions. He was very helpful when I was getting nervous (kind of freaking out) about the price he let me know all the benefits of the new door and took the time to help me download the app and how it works. I chose Precision as they had done repairs on my garage door two years earlier. The work done this time was great. I got a new motor, rotating chain drive and 10 new nylon wheels. The cost concerned me. I was told on the phone that the motor would cost $499.00. The repairman told me he was using a new model and the cost was $799.00. I am assuming labor costs were included in the price. It runs much quieter now. I like the lifetime warranty on the motor.

The good part is of this experience was their technician, Eric, was very efficient. he only took 15 minutes to replace both springs although only one was broken. The bad part of this experience was the deception in the way this company does business. When I called to make the appointment I provided the exact size of the broken spring and asked what the repair would cost. I was quoted a reasonable price. When Eric arrived he told me the repair would cost more than twice what I was quoted or I could pay a $49 "service fee" for him to do nothing. Next time I will order the springs online and do the replacement myself or hire a competent handyman.
